Air Compressor - Installation

Install the splined coupling on the accessory drive.

Make sure the gasket surfaces of the accessory drive and

the air compressor are clean and not damaged.

It is not necessary to time the air compressor on the NT

engine. Although the Big Cam III through 88 NT publi-

cations have specified air compressor timing, this is not

required on any NT engine.

Use a new gasket when installing the air compressor.

Install and tighten the four capscrews to the accessory

drive.

Torque Value: 68 N•m [50 ft-lb]

Install the air compressor support bracket.

Torque Value: 47 N•m [35 ft-lb]

The air compressor support bracket is required to support

the air compressor and provide acceptable compressor

and accessory drive support gasket performance.

Install the supply air return line from the air compressor

to the intake manifold.

Coolant tubes will be installed after water pump

installation.

Fuel Pump - Installation

CELECT™ Engines

Install the spider coupling, the mounting gasket, and the

fuel pump. Tighten the pump mounting capscrews.

Torque Value: 47 N•m [35 ft-lb]

Connect the fuel supply hose, the fuel rail supply tube,

and the gear pump drain tube.
